I asked for my eggs scrambled instead of poached. I always eat the same thing. The waitress said they’d make it for me but the manager said never again. The manager later came out. She said that if wanted scrambled in the future not to bother coming back. My mother and I requested our bill when a different waiter came asking if we needed anything else in a clear attempt to have us leave. The manager sent him back out and refused to provide the bill. Terrible display of customer service.
RE: customers with dietary restrictions and needing small modifications - stay away!!! This afternoon I asked for my eggs scrambled instead of poached for brunch. I always eat the same thing and the modification has always been made without fail. The waitress ultimately said no. The manager later came out and introduced herself. The first thing she said to me was that if wanted scrambled eggs in the future not to bother coming back.
I am new to the area and have slowly been experimenting with the various eateries in and around Ottawa and area. I happened upon Wakefield and stopped into Le Hibou on a whim. The chef, Keith Garrison, is the best thing to happen to place. I don't know exactly when he started but the difference in food quality from this time last year to now is staggering! Least of all is the fact that they have meat dishes there now. They absolutely hit the jackpot with him. Everyone in Wakefield needs to know his name; search him out. Since he started I have been there for a late lunch once and supper a couple of times and have not been disappointed. He even came out and chatted with me (along with the other customers) once. He's a great addition and a really good guy.
