Exceptional Care & Knowledge
After several years of not hearing properly, my husband was referred to P.E.I. Hearing Consultants and was very pleased to meet Steve who gave him an extensive hearing test and recommended new hearing aids. My hustands hearing improved greatly but suddenly the hearing in his left ear decreased. Upon contacting Steve and explaining his situation he had an appointment for additional hearing tests. The reason for the decrease could have been caused by a ministroke or his diabetes. The treatment he received was excellent and Steve did his best to help my husband improve his hearing by supplying an additional aid with bluetooth capability plus a small microphone and this has helped with use of his cellphone and also the television. We found Steve to be very professional and caring .
After being diagnosed for hearing loss in my left ear, I was referred to Steve at PEI Hearing Consultants for a hearing aid. He took the time to learn about my lifestyle and hobbies so he could recommend the proper hearing aid that best suited me. He did not try to sell me the most expensive hearing aid available; only what I needed. Life is now more enjoyable for me and my wife as we can have normal conversations. I did not realize what I was missing due to my hearing loss. I can now hear the birds singing and enjoy normal conversations with family and friends. Follow-up visits for hearing aid adjustments with Steve were prompt and I never felt like I was being rushed. I am completely satisfied with my new hearing aid and with the service provided by Steve. Some years ago after having a hearing test I was advised that I could benefit from the use of hearing aids. I took my test results to a local nationally recognized company, they took impressions, fitted me with a pair of hearing aids, asked me how they felt, gave me a supply of batteries and sent me on my way. I was not really hearing any better so I returned to the company in an attempt to get them adjusted. They adjusted them slightly and told me that with my type of hearing loss it would be hard to make any improvements. I again returned to the company with the same complaint a year later asking if further adjustments could be made. They were hesitant and reluctant however agreed to have me back in for further adjustments. There was still no improvement. I became totally frustrated with the company and the process. When PEI Hearing Consultants opened, I discussed my situation with Steve Wong; he felt that if I was willing to allow him to fit me and make adjustments we could have favourable results. I spent the better part of last summer and fall working with Steve, trying different sets and making adjustments. I was amazed at the results and am not sure I even knew the extent of my hearing loss until then. The volume on our TV was decreased to just about half, I could hear leaves rustling, the sound of the wind and even noticed how loud the rustling sound my nylon jacket made as my sleeve brushed against my side. I could make out conversations in a crowded room. Realistically, nothing will fully restore my hearing loss that is the reality of my situation. It is reassuring to know that if I have any questions, require any assistance my requests will not fall on Deaf Ears.
