This is one of the cities restaurants that I always enjoy whether it be at the Lasalle location or Elgin. My son had a birthday coming up and really wanted it there (I know its not really 'that kind' of place) but I called to make a reservation to find out more. I set the reservation for 12 people though when we arrived there were 2-3 extra people (cousins) that decided to join. Anyhow, shortly after we walked in the waiter told us to sit down because he had just lost a table because of us. The meals were served one or two at a time, he didn't know who ordered what (at all), brought out plates that weren't ordered and seemed very unhappy the entire time. One of the guests became fed up with the experience as he was speaking very rudely to another guest when she was paying for some meals. He was raising his voice saying no that's not what you ordered and the table ordered such and such though he had no idea who ordered what. He proceeded to inform the angered guest that he didn't care about his concerns and that the cok didn't either and the owner would feel the same. meanwhile we still have a guest that has not received his meal. The waiter comes out with two plates of food for the single guest who is being more patient than most people and neither plate were the order he had requested. My nachos were were very good and I always love thier guacamole and for the most part I had never been treated rudely in past visists. This is great restaurant to go to if you are a party of 1-4 people but the Lasalle location made it very clear that large groups were not welcome (which was a statement the server actually made "you see a couple of people..they'll come back..but these big groups...we don't care". As I write this small catastrophe I think to myself in this very large group you had some very small groups and likely I will be the only one to return as I have seen the other side of it all. I truly hope the owner doesn't share the views of this waiter because I enjoy the atmosphere, the food, music and cannot allow myself to go back somewhere to be utterly disrespected and humiliated again. (Once, while at the downtown location there was a party of 10-15 and every seemed pleasant for them)
