We normally dont complain but this time we felt that we needed to. In the past this has been our go to place when we come to Stratford but we will be looking for something else in the future. We had poor service, food was very, very slow in coming and we can say we have had better. And to top it off the waitress gave us the incorrect invoice. And when we mentioned it to her she did not want to deal with it and sent the manger to us, who also just ignored us. We felt it was a very disorganize
My friend and I went to Kelsey's after a long day. I hadn't been there in quite a long time, because my last visit consisted of my mum and I waiting 45 minutes for our food and then leaving without it. When we arrived there, we ordered a water, a Coke and an appetizer of the spinach dip. I requested no peppers, but apparently the sauce comes with peppers already made it in, so I was fine with that. We also ordered the baslamic chicken for me and a pasta with Ceaser salad for my vegetarian friend. The server asked if my friend had wanted bacon and she stated no, I suppose *foolishly* assuming the server meant both in the pasta and in the salad. We waited for what seemed like forever, only to have our appetizer and our main meal served at the same time. My mashed potatoes were cold, the chicken was not tasty at all, and the "steamed" vegetables were crunchy and cold. I wasn't too worried about that because it happens and I didn't want to be the one to complain. But then, my vegetarian friend bit into a piece of bacon in the pasta and also vomited. We asked for the server and pointed out how she was vegetarian but there was bacon in the pasta which we asked to be taken out. She stated "You never said that. The pasta comes with bacon, it says on the menu." Let me tell you, I work in customer service at fast food, and I would NEVER make a customer feel like it was their fault. This lady was treating us with no respect, probably based on the fact that we are teenagers, especially considering my friend had been in there a few months earlier with her mum, asked for no mushrooms, got mushrooms, then got the meal replaced for free. The server said that she could pack it up and did not offer for it to be replaced nor to do anything to fix the mistake. Why would the vegetarian want to take home a pasta with bacon in it? She didn't ask us if the bill was split, she didn't apologize and she made us feel terrible, especially my friend. When we got the bill, it was almost $50. We then asked for it to be split, and she must've overheard us complaining, because the new bill had 50% off of the pasta. She did not tell us she was going to do half off, but I still don't see that as compensation for rudeness. I went home and called in, asking to speak to a manager. I got her. She continued to make me feel as if what I did was wrong, had no apology and offered no solution. Apparently, the general manager is calling me back on Tuesday. I will never go to this place again.
I was given a 50 gift cert. to kelseys for christmas 2010. Never have tried the food there, I was excited. My first visit was a lunch with a friend. we decided to try the burger and split it between the 2 of us;for over 12$ we thought it would probably be huge! Well, after waiting 20 mins for our drinks(coffee & coke) from the waitress and then recieving the meal which was definitely an overpriced prefab burger & fries, we realized the disappointment. The service was not very good...had to wait for the bill which took way too long and made me late for work was just an insult. I thought maybe i will give it one more chance since I`still had 30$ left on my certificate. Oct.10/11-we had to go to a funeral wake at 7:30pm and got to the restraunt at 6;20- I thought we would have lots of time! My man ordered the burger with frys and a beer-13:00special. I ordered the butternut soup and a baked potato with sour cream, butter and chives.with coffee. We waited...the waitress informed us that there was only 3 waiters and were busy. I understood. (I was once a waitress many times-fine dining)it was almost 7:15 and my man was livid- i asked if it was not ready to cancell because we had to go. She brought out our order- omg- the burger was so done that the cheese was melted right off, the burger and frys were cold?? my soup was so runny and tasted like it was cooked days ago. i am a butternut soup connessiour and that was a very sad attempt of soup very bad...was it prefab soup?omg. The potato was good but we had to eat so fast that I didn't get to finish it. I couldn't believe that I paid for it with my cert. 30$ I have talked with the group that buys gift certificates for staff and insisted that they do not buy from Kelseys! I was appalled! I will send a copy of this to head office. It is an insult to culinary foodies to see a franchize like this with bad food, bad service and overly priced for prefab food! PEOPLE stick to downtown original eateries in Stratford!
The bartender was great with us waiting in bar drinks for the kids right away busy but nice The server was warm and friendly new the menu well Food was great and Timely
I have been to Kelseys in the past and never really liked it, so I haven't been in over a year. I went with a few people on the weekend and I have to say it was pretty good. They have updated their menus and they have improved their burgers. 2 ppl I was with ordered the philly cheese steak sandwich and it looked really good (they liked it). So I would have to say Kelseys has certainly stepped it up!
