Fantastic food ,people and atmosphere !!
Last time I went there.They were being investigated By the health unit. From what I saw they were not happy . Needless to say I have never went back there again Got my food cold and service was slow.
Looking at some of the negative reviews I must admit i was a bit concerned. However I am pleased to say our dining experience was very good. The service was good the staff friendly and attentive. We were there on pasta night and they were really busy. I am pleased to say this did not effect the service what so ever. We had everything from the pasta, fish and chips and surf and turf. There was seven of us and no one was unhappy with their meals
Our family has dinner at the Steak Villa twice a month. The food and service is fantastic. I'm sure we have tried everything on the menu, but we absolutely love their Prime Rib. We did have to wait in the hall at times for a table, but it is so worth it. I think the food is excellent.
Upon first glance you expect something good to come of the dinning experience. Standing at the very crowded narrow doors waiting to be seated you are in the way of the wait staff and bar. Upon seating the staff are gracious but not overly friendly or even nice they are short and abrupt but to their credit the "boss/manager" is an absolute tyrant as we could hear him yelling at some poor girl in the back which was completely unprofessional! I got the distinct impression within the 25 minutes it took to order that the they are severely understaffed and under appreciated and hence probably the reasoning behind the "unfriendly" attitude we could overhear how badly the manager treats his staff! We ordered the Greek brochettes, steak melt, glasses of white wine, and fish and chips platter with chocolate eruption cheesecake to round everything off. Trying to hurry and swallow whole your dinner didn't help matters however the chicken was dry, the salad tasteless and lacking in presentation, way too much excess grease with every dish we ordered and in general the food was terrible. The only good thing was the cheesecake which is ordered in by a manufacturer in Toronto (I know because way back when Nickle's restaurant, owned by Celine Dion carried it first then it was Swiss Chalet, and so forth) so I can't credit it much there, and well the wine wasn't too bad. But on the whole the tables are way too close together with little to no room in some areas to move and as much as they tried to "update" the decor it still needs work. They need to move the bar to the side or back and hire someone who knows how to tend bar properly, or send one staff member from each shift for a quick course. Get rid of a couple tables to allow mobility impaired individuals to move through the restaurant easier as one gentleman came in and had no choice but to leave as he could not get through and clean house with regards to the decor, sometimes less is more! As for the manager...................a heads up to him .......when you treat your staff well they perform well, they bring their A game and see themselves invested in their place of business they see it as an extension of who they are and take pride in what they do, what they produce and what they deliver EVEN IF THAT IS A RESTAURANT AND THEY ARE SERVERS!!! So would we stop in again if we were in town???? Not unless that manager makes some drastic changes to his attitude and treatment towards the staff and some dramatic menu alterations!
