It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to find unique gift items and home décor that will stand out. But Jill Mattice is passionate about stocking her Maple Ridge store so her customers can find that special gift or home décor item that no one else will have.
Jill has owned and run Lotus & Lemongrass Gifts & Décor since 2008 and she travels far and wide — across Canada, to the United States and to Asia — to find those unique gift items — everything from colourful handbags and jewellry to dishware, cards and fire pots.
Popular items at her store include Lampe Berger, a fragrance lamp that gives off a gentle smell and purifies the air; Pyrrha Jewelry, Good Works bracelets, a company that donates 25 per cent of its profits to charity; Sophie Conran dishes from England; Face Plant pillowcases and PJs; and Little Giraffe blankets, bath towels and clothing for children.
Her customers appreciate the stylish items, which enhance their homes. Clocks and wall art are also popular items at Lotus & Lemongrass, and Jill explains that with Maple Ridge residents buying bigger homes with bigger entranceways, the clocks and wall art suit this style.
“People want unique products that will make a statement,” she said.
