While travelling in Asia, The Spa Ritual owner Shauna Walker was struck by the vast difference between the region’s spas and their Canadian counterparts. The gracious hospitality of these services and the reverence given to ritual was something that Walker felt Calgary spas lacked, and that Calgarians would embrace.

“She wanted to bring the Asian spa experience to Calgary. And people responded really well. The business keeps growing year after year,” says Christina Arthur-Dick, marketing director for The Spa Ritual, which is part of the Santé Spa group. With business partner Kent Macintyre, Walker opened the Crowfoot Crossing spa in 2008.

    Worst Spa Experience. Ever.

    I had a terrible experience at The Spa Ritual in October 2017. As a repeat, returning customer I was surprised by how my visit went - it didn't used to be like this! From a treatment room with malfunctioning lighting and sound (making it impossible to relax!) to a very strange "massage" that was so bad I had to ask for it to end halfway through, and ending with the horrid attitude from the front desk staff, it was a complete waste of my time. I left very upset and not even remotely relaxed.

    WOW and Oh ya!

    Step into an experience in relaxation and renewal. My wife and I have gone here a few times. We have had a couples massage which is a great date night and I have had the Tia Leg massage. The staff truly are professional. Costco has gift cards for $80 to get $100 of service.
