Jaafar's Tailor

Jaafar’s Tailor is located amidst the hustle and bustle of downtown Calgary. It seems quiet and unassuming on the outside, but once you step inside there is usually a steady flow of people asking shop owner Jaafar Alhoseyni to mend, alter or create their clothes and suits. “At 10:00am people start coming in,” says Jaafar. “And then it goes on until we close at 6:00pm.”

Jaafar has run this business for five years. Even though he recently moved to a new downtown location, loyal customers have made a point to follow him here. In fact, he says that about 90% of his customers are repeat visitors, while the rest are new from the area. Jaafar is a master tailor who gets help from two employees who have been with him from the start.
