I attend this restaurant regularly mon-fri for the 3.99 breakfast deal and occasionally we go there for the chicken tenders platter for dinner. I love the service but only when Andrea serves myself and my wife, before that we had gone through waitress after waitress getting crapy service and leaving the girls without a tip as they would never come and check on us until it was time to pay, but when we learned we could request the waitress we wanted everything got soooo much better. This girl is on fire! she has a bubbly attitude and knows what you want when you want it. Shes the best waitress any restaurant could ask for and I wish we could clone her for other restaurants. The food is great and we love the french toast!! and OMG the honey dijon mustard is crazy and out of this world!!! order that with the chicken tenders and I swear you will be one happy customer! Probably the best pub food in Guelph. Have eaten their so many times, never been dissapointed. Their menu is huge, and filled with all the pub food you can think of. Service is usually OK. It is a sit yourself bar, you just walk in and sit down and a server will come to you. They have huge booths to the back corner which are great because we always go in a huge group, usually for foreign people, and I find the servers are very understanding and patient compared to other places over the inevitable miscommunications that occur. I have found this place gets a little busy from time to time, so service does slow down, but is still not as bad as other places in guelph. the atmostphere is not bad, but it does get very very very noisy! Wild Wings serve up some of the most unique wings . The wings were quite delicious, there were MANY flavours to choose from. Very unique flavours such as Thai and Raspberry and Pineapple curry! However, they tasted quite ordinary, there wasn't a WOW factor. The service was great, our waitress was very friendly and helpful. And the atmosphere was very fun. I work in customer service, so I understand that things don't always go as planned. It is how an establishment deals with their mistakes that really shows how good they are , in my humble opinion. We go to Swiss Chalet all the time, the food is always hot and delicious and up to the Swiss Chalet Standard, the service is usually pretty good, quick for sure and the restaurant smells good and is clean. We often order take out from this location, and we have had a few problems, orders not being filled correctly, no gravy for the poutine, little things like that. One time we ordered and they called back 30 minutes later to tell us there was a snow storm and the delivery person went home! Needless to say I complained. I got a personal response from the Manager appologizing for our bad experience and comping us for two 1/4 chicken dinners! WOW, I thought that was just great. I get that mistakes are made, but I have never had anyone take responsibility and compensate me so quickly and politely! Since then we have ordered a few times and we haven't had anymore problems. We were happily surprised to see a full chalk board of specials. We are always excited about the specials because the chef there is so talented. They were quite busy but the service was exceptional as usual. This is at least the eleventh time or so we have been there. Breakfast is also really great. My husband is a big eater and he is always satisfied with his meal. The prices are fair, the food is amazing, and the people that work there are great. I have an allergy to gluten and it is so nIce to be able to enjoy a full corse meal at at fair price when we come to this place. I wish the chef could ,prepare food for me at home all the time. Also, the people that work there are super knowledgable about the food they serve. This place is fabulous and everyone should give it a go. Oh and great wine too! Lire plus

The food was pretty good...but it isn't that inexpensive. Our 1/2 litre of wine - really good Cab Sauv suggested by our quite competent waiter -was $24.95! Threw us a bit...but our fault as we didn't check the price first :) Pretty nice wine, though. We each had the soup of the day which was very good and came with garlic toast plus we split the nachos which were good as well. we went for a friend's birthday dinner. her and her bf love the place. they talk about it all the time. i have heard mixed reviews about the place. going online and checking out menu didn't look too appealing to me. regular food with a high price and over stuffed with "expensive" words for simple ingredients i had a glass of the Chardonnay from usa. excellent should have order 1.2 liter. i shared the sicilian mussel except made not spicy (don't like spicy food). the broth has aromatic and delightful. nice tomatoes, olives and onion broth. mussels were plump and tasty. the table bread was amazing. i usually steer away from bread because it is dry and garbage. but this was warm, soft and fluffy in the middle with a slight chew and crispy on outside. i ordered the shrimp and scallop carciofi (fettucine) made without cream and with tomato instead. the pasta was cooked perfectly, scallops a bit fishy, shrimps were poached perfectly. a bit too much tomato but im a bigger fan of cooked pasta perfect el dente. people sitting around me ordered veggie gnocchi (she loved it), short rib gnocchi (he wolfed it down and wanted more), prosciutto fuselli (she said pasta was amazing too slow portion and prosciutto tasted like bacon, pork chop dinner (thought it was amazing), smoked chicken el la vodka (he said was ok). food was good better than i expected. a bit over priced but it was a friend's birthday. I plugged in "diner" in YP search, because i wanted something quick an basic. Red House popped up, and I am so glad that it did! I was pricier than a diner but that was fine with me. It was reasonably priced and the quality of food makes it worth it! Service was excellent as well. I came for lunch (table for 1) but will definitely be back... I went wit a group my friends a couple weeks ago, we were not sure what to order, individually or sharing?. the waitress recommended family dinner for 6B for us. We could even substitute other dish with the order. It was surprising fast and delicious! we had tasted variety food. Hot and Sour Soup is the best! I had never have such soup anywhere else. Also I like Mongolian Beef and Broccoli, Bean curd with Dry Hot pepper sauce. Very tasty! We go to the Barley Works on Friday or Saturday nights after nine pm to play trivia. We have samples seveal of their menu offerings and really enjoy the perogies and spinach salad. April is a great bartender and we are never left waiting or wondering if we are being taken care of. Worth the drive to Waterloo if you like a place to sit and play a bit of interactive trivia. So long as you don't mind that it is mostly a student hangout (and we "old fogies" don't mind at all). Lire plus
