Kenton Fredlund

Kenton Fredlund

Dr. Fredlund grew up in Saskatoon and graduated from Walter Murray. He attended the University of Saskatchewan for a four year Bachelor of Science in Anatomy before completing his Optometry education at Pacific University in Portland, Oregon. After graduation, Dr. Fredlund worked briefly at Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute in Portland before returning home to FYidoctors (formerly Atrium Eye Care). He enjoys practicing full scope optometry with interest in children's vision, laser co-management, and contact lenses. FYidoctors allows him the freedom to practice optometry with access to current technology, such as OCT, HRT and optima. Dr. Fredlund also enjoys providing his patients with the latest technology in contact lens materials and freeform optical lenses. Dr. Fredlund has spent 10 years involved as a Director of the Continuing Education Committee for the Saskatchewan Association of Optometry and currently serves on the Advisory Board for FYidoctors. Dr. Fredlund has been previously involved with Doctors Eye Care Network in capacities ranging from Membership Director to CEO. He is currently a proud member of the Usadian Executive Association, serving on the Board of Directors over the past year. Outside of optometry, his family takes priority. Carmela Giocoli

Carmela Giocoli

Dr. Giocoli was born and raised in Saskatoon, SK graduating from ED Feehan high school. She then went onto the University of Saskatchewan to complete an honors degree in Biology before heading to the University of Waterloo. She completed her Doctorate of Optometry with honors in 2005. During this time, Dr. Giocoli gained experience at a private practice optometry clinic in Lethbridge, Alberta and Omni Eye Specialists in Baltimore, MD. Upon graduation she returned to Saskatchewan, with her husband, Dr. Rich Kort, where they both joined InSight Vision Care in Regina. After 6 years of practice in Regina, they were given the opportunity to join Atrium Eye Care. They happily made the move to Saskatoon in 2011, excited to be a part of Atrium and be closer to family. Dr. Giocoli enjoys all aspects of full scope optometry and has a special interest in low vision and children's vision. Outside of work, her and her husband are kept very busy with their two children, Joshua and Marja. They enjoy various outdoor activities and spending time at their cabin at Meeting Lake. Dr. Giocoli looks forward to providing eye care to her home community and gladly welcomes new patients to Atrium Eye Care.

Shelby Borstmayer

Shelby Borstmayer

Shelby Borstmayer is a determined, positive, and adventurous Optometrist whose goal is to help all her patients reach their full visual potential. She grew up in Bruno, SK and graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Science in 2017. From there, she pursued her Doctor of Optometry at Pacific University, graduating in 2021. As a clinical intern, Shelby had the opportunity to learn alongside doctors with a variety of specialties in Stonewall and Swan River, Manitoba, Fallon, Nevada, Chandler, Arizona, and Cheyenne, Wyoming. During her time at Pacific University and over the course of her clinical rotations, Shelby developed a passion for Vision Therapy. In addition to her professional drivers, Shelby is passionate about fitness and staying active. She has a love of travel, and hiking is one of her favorite ways to explore the places she visits. Shelby values spending quality time with her family and friends and has recently taken up golf. Maybe you'll catch her on the course sometime!

Bryan Ens

Bryan Ens

Dr. Bryan Ens was born in Edmonton, AB. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alberta. Dr. Ens then received his Doctor of Optometry with Honours at the University of Waterloo in 2014. This is where he met his wife, Dr. Dionne Jones. Optometry has taken Dr. Ens all over the globe. He has volunteered his optometric services to those in need in Nicaragua, Peru, Malawi and the Philippines, combining his love for travel with his passion for helping others. His goal is to eventually practice optometry on every continent. Before moving to Saskatchewan, Dr. Ens had a successful practice in Edmonton for over eight years, with a special interest in contact lenses, myopia control, and advanced dry eye treatment. He decided to relocate to Saskatoon, his wife’s hometown, to be closer to extended family and the Waskesiu Lake life. He is very excited to be joining the FYi team, and he looks forward to helping patients achieve their visual needs. In his spare time, you can find Dr. Ens running, playing hockey, golfing, and being a dad.

Dionne Jones

Dionne Jones

Dr. Dionne Jones was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She graduated from Aden Bowman Collegiate before continuing on to the University of Saskatchewan, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Jones then completed her Doctorate of Optometry with Honors at the University of Waterloo in 2015. The program included clinical rotations in primary care, specialty contact lens fitting, low vision, and pediatrics. Her ocular disease externship included working alongside several ophthalmologists in Alabama, where her training focused on ocular conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, cataract, glaucoma, and neuro-ophthalmology. It was in optometry school where she met her significant other Dr. Bryan Ens and upon graduation, Dr. Jones made the move to Edmonton to live and practice. Dr. Jones practiced optometry and ran her own clinic Sherwood Park Optometry from 2015-2023. With a second baby on the way, Dr. Jones then decided to make the move back home to Saskatoon. She prides herself in providing excellent, comprehensive eye care and building meaningful relationships with her patients.

Kerry Bishop

Kerry Bishop

Dr. Bishop was born and raised on a farm near Jansen, Saskatchewan and completed her high school education at Lanigan Central High. From there she attended the University of Saskatchewan and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Anatomy. She continued to pursue optometry and moved down to Bloomington, Indiana where she completed her optometry degree at Indiana University. Dr. Bishop attended several externships including a Veterans hospital in New York, Laservue lasik site in Orlando, Quantico marine base in Virginia, and a pediatrics/low vision clinic in Indianapolis. After completion of these, Dr. Bishop worked in Colorado for a short time before returning home to Saskatchewan. She joined Atrium Eye Care in 2004. Dr. Bishop felt that Atrium's commitment to having state of the art equipment, well-educated staff and implementing the newest technology and products allowed her to provide high quality vision care to all her patients. Dr. Bishop enjoys practicing full scope family optometry with a special interest in children, contact lenses, and prevention of eye disease. Outside of work Dr. Bishop enjoys spending time with her husband Brandon and their three children. Her hobbies include soccer, fishing, figure-skating, golfing and travel.

Richard Kort

Richard Kort

Dr. Kort was born in Cranbrook, B.C. and raised in Kelowna. He attended the University of Saskatchewan prior to entering Optometry School where he earned his Doctorate of Optometry with Honours status at the Univeristy of Waterloo in 2002. After graduation, Dr. Kort completed a Contact Lens Residency at the University. The emphasis of this residency was fitting specialty contact lenses and conducting research in continuous wear contact lenses and corneal reshaping therapy. He was awarded the 2002 Canadian Contact Lens Society Prize for proficiency in theoretical and clinical application of contact lenses. Dr. Kort practiced optometry in Lethbridge, AB for 3 years before moving to Saskatchewan to practice optometry with his wife Dr. Carmela Giocoli in 2005. They lived in Regina for 6 years until moving to Saskatoon to join Atrium Eye Care. The move to Saskatoon has allowed them to be closer to their extended family. Drs. Kort and Giocoli have 2 beautiful children named Joshua and Marja. Dr. Kort was honoured to be a finalist in the Saskatchewan Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs (SYPE) "Young Professional of the Year" award in 2008. Kayla Beattie

Kayla Beattie

Dr. Kayla Beattie was born and raised in Regina and completed her optometry degree with the Class of 2014 at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science. Before moving to Waterloo, Kayla enjoyed playing three exciting seasons with the University of Regina Cougars Softball Club and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology. As a clinical intern, Kayla spent time with a variety of eye specialists in Pinellas Park FL, Calgary AB, Saskatoon SK, and Waterloo ON. She developed an appetite for travel and has spent time in Peru and the Philippines providing non-profit eye care services to those in need. Kayla developed a passion for all aspects of optometric patient care and in 2015 she began her career in Regina before relocating to Saskatoon in 2020. With special interest in children's vision, sports vision, ocular disease, and contact lenses, Kayla is excited to continue her professional practice where her internship started at Fyidoctors Atrium on 1st and 22nd St W . In her spare time you can find Kayla in a dance class, on the ball field, or spending time with her husband, Devin, and their two children.
