Good food needs no labels to be enjoyed by discriminating tastes, and that’s been Tori Vaccher’s goal since she opened Tori’s Bakeshop in 2012. Although known in their Beaches neighbourhood as a vegan bakery and coffee bar with a cozy industrial decor, to be sure, the fare they serve appeals to all kinds of eaters.
The driving concept for Tori and the Bakeshop’s manager Marcella is that the food they prepare is fresh with wholesome ingredients that everyone will enjoy. “We have a balance of vegans and non-vegans in the space, and it’s always good to have the different opinions,” says Marcella. "We don't want to make 'good vegan food;' we want to make good food. Period."
There’s no place in the city that does a lemon cupcake with cream cheese frosting the way Tori’s Bakeshop does. It’s an entirely organic product with coconut milk, apple cider, and Toffuti cream cheese. If the artful presentation doesn’t win you over, the first bite definitely will. Should you have a bigger appetite than dessert can satisfy, then the all-organic grilled vegetable sandwich is sure to do the trick. It’s loaded with savory garden vegetables and is available on either spelt or gluten-free bread.
2022 - currently tried your confetti cake and not only disappointed but the Birthday cake was inedible. Any box cake mix would have been better tasting and dollars saved.
