When Bakerbots co-founder Christopher Stopa found the vacant Bloor Street storefront — a dim, carpeted space in the heart Bloordale — he knew it was the perfect place to call home. After a few adjustments of course. A labour of love, Chris ripped down old drywall to expose gorgeous brick walls, and then added espresso wood flooring and stunning architectural lighting, using an expert design eye to create bright and beautiful space that is both warm and inviting. A flat-iron-style seating area juts out at the front of the cafe, providing a private nook, and mouth-watering smells waft from the open baking kitchen in the back.
Walking into Home Baking Co., you’ll definitely see some of the same decorative winks as the Bakerbots Delaware-Street location, including Parisian-esque marble tables and chairs and the butcher-block bar — atop which sits Home’s beautiful baked goods and gourmet desserts.
