In late 2013, Sandra Carr-Harris introduced her top echelon hairstyle and colouring services into the mix of trendy businesses popping up along the burgeoning St. Clair West strip. While the shop may be new, Sandra brings over 20 years of industry experience and a loyal following of clientele from Yorkville, the home of her former salon, Carr-Harris Hair.
For Astra Salon, Sandra went for a mid-century modernist aesthetic; the salon almost doubles as an art gallery with paintings for sale on the wall. “I have access to a lot of beautiful art which I find inspiring,” says Sandra. “I consider doing hair an art. I like to marry the two together.” She plans to eventually host art salon parties to showcase her favourite artists.
