Cathy Mitchell, owner of A Touch Above, remembers all too well her awkward adolescence that every teenage girl (and guy) experiences. It was the phase where braces, glasses and even bad skin could land you in the nerd or unpopular group — or any teen clique à la The Breakfast Club; after all, it was high school.
At that time, an electrolysis technician treated Cathy for facial hair whose influence left a lasting impression. "The woman made me feel so comfortable, so relaxed; she helped build my confidence," recalls Cathy. "I thought, 'I can't wait to do the same for other people.'" The inspiring experience drove the trajectory of Cathy's career. In 1991, she began working in the industry, and then in 2003, she opened A Touch Above, an electrolysis and esthetics salon on Vancouver's West Side.
My experience was enjoyable! The esthitician Emily was very attentive to my needs and she did a wonderfu job during my appointment! This hidden gem is in a quiet neighbourhood with convenient parking and immediately felt welcomed upon arrival of my appointment!
