    First experience with them Requested they find problem with 2 furnaces in duplex .they said the heat exchangers must be replaced..gave quote 6500.00;.. Brought in another service company for second opinion..the second company s opinion was the heat exchangers must be replaced however the cause must be resolved first R/& B did not locate the cause and if they installed the heat exchangers they would have failed as the cause was not attended ..R & B billed me and will not communicate on this

    We were forced to shut your furnaces down due to dangerous levels of Carbon Monoxide being emitted, as your safety is of utmost importance. After you expressed doubts about our diagnosis, we referred you another company who specializes in this make and model of furnace. We also found that this make of furnace suffers from a manufacturer defect that has since been fixed. We've tried extensively to reach you since and have been unable to do so. Please do contact us so we can find a resolution!

    I want to let you know my today's experience with R&B Plumbing and Heating Ltd. - the technician was not familiar with the system, although I asked for an experienced one because my heating system is quite complex one and few other contractors did not want to service it. - the technician tried to let the air out from the system by pressing the valve stems and they started leaking immediately. Instead of trying to clean them up he suggested replacing them. He called a supplier and said it would c

    Great Response time

    Being a caregiver for an elderly couple, I needed to bring in a plumber to fix the couple's kitchen sink/faucet... and needed it quickly. R&B was quick to both solve the problem and provide a replacement faucet. This made life much easier for the elderly couple and was no longer a problem that I needed to manage. Thanks R&B!

    It was nice that we could help this couple out. They had been using a broken, leaking kitchen faucet with no hot water for some time. We were able to give them a replacement that we happened to have in the shop and since they were right in the neighbourhood, and were obviously struggling we were happy to be able to do the entire job for no charge.

    installation of a new boiler

    I’m really happy with our new boiler. It’s an IBC. R&B does all the piping and assembly in their shop to keep the inconvenience of the construction, not to mention the mess, out of my house. Now it hangs on my wall and saves me hundreds of dollars each year in energy cost efficiency. They saved us even more money when we took advantage of the government grant. R&B was really helpful in making that all really easy. Now we see them once a year for our service.They are professional people with their work.

    The government grants from the Live Smart Program were an excellent way to get money for investing in green initiatives. Even though that has ended Fortis BC has continued to be supportive of customers trying to increase the efficiency of their homes. In 2013 they have grants for furnaces, hot water, fireplaces, and seasonal natural gas maintenance programs. We are very familiar with grant applications and try to making the process as easy as possible.

    Quality Work - Great Service

    I love dealing with these guys. For one, they have this lovely person answering the phone. They are have their records computerized so they know exactly who I am and what's been done on my house. But best of all is the owner Rob. He really knows his products and how a job should be done. I was impressed that even things that would be hidden inside the walls were straight and organized and looked good. We are really happy with the work they did on our renovation and they even managed to save us some money! We recommend them anytime.

    Thank-you for your kind review. We agree that Candace is a treasure! We always try to look for solutions that are the right balance between quality and price. This renovation presented a challenge with their new master bathroom. It is tiny. We were able to recommend a configuration that used a corner toilet to maximize space use and enable them to fit a 36" shower stall. This turned a two piece bath into a three piece and not only added value, but also added a much needed second shower to the home. One of the great discoveries of this renovation happened when we were roughing in for the plumbing for that bath. When we accessed the crawl space to run a shut-off valve, we discovered a room that had been inexplicable walled off. That room is now finished as a walk in closet.

    Don't Use R&B

    I have had the worst experience dealing with this company!!! I have had issues with the work including gas leaks in different location and billings well in excess of what they quoted I would Not Not Not recommend anyone to use this company. Stay away from R&B plumbing.

    Dear NVReno1, We've read your review and would like to set the record straight on this unfortunate turn of events. But first, allow us to clarify who we are. R&B Plumbing and Heating is a local family-owned business which has been serving the lower mainland since 1990. Fully bonded and insured, R&B employs only journeyman plumbers and indentured apprentices who take great pride in the quality of their workmanship—quality that our customers appreciate. It is unfortunate that you decided to follow through with the threats to make negative and fabricated online reviews of our company. We are sorry about the turn of events but feel we went out of our way to service you and resolve issues. It is also disappointing to us that you became 'dissatisfied' with our services when you were ordered by a judge to pay your invoice. To state the facts, a budget estimate was given based on your specifications. After work began, you asked us to increase the scope of the work to accommodate major additional items and changes including but not limited to moving the furnace after we’d installed it, digging a trench in the basement through concrete, adding another entire bathroom to the scope of the work and a new water heater. In addition, you made several upgrades to the original product choices. Your expectation was that we should not charge for these since you still wanted to stick to your original budget. We are also aware that you had a concern with regards to a gas smell coming from his outdoor barbeque box. Even without payment, we have attempted to arrange to trouble shoot and repair any deficiency several times. In the end, you have cancelled us and were continually unavailable to schedule an appointment, putting us off no less than three times. The last time we've attempted to reach out, you claimed to be going out of town for a week and would call back upon your return. That was two months ago, and we have yet to hear from you.
